The Year of the Monkey
8th December, 2018 @ 10.47 am
The Year of the Monkey is the 9th sign in the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. As per one myth, the monkey, dog and rooster were in another place or country aiding a God to defeat evil spirits when the race was announced by the Jade Emperor (you can check out the complete story of the race in the Introduction to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar). After their task was finished they set off to the race and arrived at the finish point together, so the Jade Emperor had to go by the order in which they met the other God, and that is how monkey came in 9th as he was the first to meet the other God. The hour of the monkey is 3-5 in the afternoon. The years of the monkey are 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028, etc.
One of the defining traits of the people born in the year of the monkey is their intelligence. They are achievers from a young age and win accolades and prizes in school as well as being successful in their careers too. Strategizing and problem-solving comes easily to them. They are sociable, energetic, fun-loving, flexible, and practical. However, their achievements can go to their head and make them arrogant, disrespectful, and self-centred. If they keep up with their logical thinking and willingness to listen, they may be able to overcome their negative traits.
Fashion-wise, monkeys love to have fun and they do not hesitate from experimenting with their looks. Hence they can try anything that appeals to their eyes. This RMC Year of the Monkey Jeans from the house of Martin Ksohoh is just what may appeal to people born in the year of the monkey. The lucky colours of the monkeys are white, blue, and gold and these jeans have all the colours mentioned here in them. The authentic and genuine blue raw selvedge denim has unique hand embroidered back pockets which will catch the attention of anyone with its intricacy and distinctiveness. The exotic design featured here is that of the patron deity of the year of the monkey, Dainichi Nyorai Buddha.
This Buddha is the all-encompassing Buddha also known as the Great Sun and Center of Zenith. He is the supreme deity who illuminates the universe. In the design, he is sitting on a beautiful golden lotus which represents detachment from the worldly pleasure in a meditative posture or Padmasana. He is holding his hand in the Vajra Mudra or the Knowledge Fist Mudra in which all the five fingers of the right hand are clasping the index finger of the left hand. This mudra symbolizes that all the five worldly elements; earth, water, fire, air, and space are united with the mind or spiritual consciousness. He can be seen wearing an elaborately designed golden crown and is decked with jewellery. On the other pocket is the embroidered design of the kanji word which represents Dainichi Nyorai. Both these designs have the hallmark Tsunami wave embroidered background. With these jeans from RMC Jeans, the monkeys can prove that they are not just ahead in academics and career, but also in personal style.
